The latest trip by Salva Kiir Mayardit to South Africa comes weeks after he met President Cyril Ramaphosa in Addis Ababa.

Officials say the visit is intended to build on previous diplomatic exchanges and further strengthen cooperation between South Sudan and South Africa.

According to presidential spokesperson Arek Aldo Deng, the leaders are expected to discuss economic collaboration, institutional development, and other areas of partnership.
