In a meeting with Dr. Chris Mukiza, the Executive Director of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), the Kyabazinga underscored the paramount importance of the census in steering informed governance and strategic planning. “We, as a kingdom, urge our people to actively partake in the census, as it provides invaluable insights for tailored development initiatives,” proclaimed the monarch.

Expressing gratitude for UBOS’s efforts, the Kyabazinga welcomed the establishment of a dedicated statistical office at the kingdom headquarters, recognizing its potential to fortify data-driven decision-making within the region.

Dr. Mukiza reciprocated the sentiment, affirming UBOS’s commitment to ensuring the success of the census through collaborative endeavors with the Busoga Kingdom. Assuring the populace of data confidentiality, Mukiza highlighted the robust security measures in place to safeguard sensitive information.

As anticipation builds for the digital census, Mukiza unveiled innovative features aimed at enhancing accuracy and efficiency. Enumerators will wield identification tags embedded with QR codes, facilitating seamless authentication and thwarting counterfeit attempts.

Furthermore, in a gesture of mutual empowerment, UBOS pledged to equip the kingdom headquarters with a statistics office unit, furnished with essential resources and staffed by locally nominated statisticians.
