Honorable Aisha Kabanda, the National Unity Platform’s representative for Butambala district, provided a comprehensive analysis of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement’s (MK Movement) transition into the Patriotic League of Uganda. During a televised interview, Kabanda explored the motivations driving this rebranding, portraying the MK Movement as an arm of the ruling NRM party’s efforts to engage the youth.

Drawing from her past association with the NRM, Kabanda emphasized the party’s acknowledgment of its dwindling influence among the youth demographic. She suggested that elevating Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s prominence was an attempt to bridge this gap. However, Kabanda expressed doubts about Muhoozi’s ability to genuinely connect with youth concerns.
